NGOC

A gay Vietnamese American multidisciplinary artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born in Vietnam and raised in the U.S. as a refugee, Ngoc’s journey of cultural adaptation, identity formation, and creative discovery is central to his work. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Ngoc's practice is rooted in portraiture and figure painting, blending realism with abstraction to reflect the complexity of lived experience. Through expressive mark-making, bold color, and layered textures, his work explores themes of identity, intimacy, vulnerability, and belonging. As a queer Asian American artist, Ngoc’s paintings center LGBTIQ AAPI bodies and stories—challenging erasure, stereotypes, and invisibility. His art is both personal and political, driven by a desire to create space for healing, connection, and representation.

Whether through canvas, public art, or community-based projects like his queer postcard series, Ngoc’s work invites dialogue and affirms the beauty and resilience of marginalized communities.
